Communication is important

Communication skill comes first as it is the most essential part of client dealing. However, this varies depending on the client’s approach, service requirements and so on. Communication is the core ability to express your skills to your door knockers. If you respond them in an offensive or unprofessional manner, even if you have mastery over any particular skill, will any of the buyers ever place an order?

There is no alternative to responding politely to the Buyers

And you will face many buyers arriving with unacceptable and irrelevant tasks, some will shoot your inbox offering intolerably low budget offers, while some will approach in a Bossy mood, or with discourteous attitudes. Your special skill here is to handle all sorts of clients politely. Whether you do the job or not, always make sure the buyer is not unhappy in any way. That’s one of the greatest virtues of any professional.

Know the Ordering process

Know the ordering process clearly before you start working on any freelancing marketplaces. Ask an expert if needed. In my initial days of freelancing, I remember I trusted a client and provided the work inbox. We never talked about placing any order systematically (as the process was totally unknown to me). And as usual…. Scammed. So try to know the whole process clearly first.

Patience is the key to success

If you are having any aim to become a millionaire in 3 months, freelancing is particularly not for you then. This doesn’t necessarily mean that no one can become a millionaire in three months through freelancing. However, patience is one of the first important features you need to have as a professional freelancer. Never get desperate searching for clients. If you have done all the Gig setup and promotion process perfectly, why don’t you hone your skills meanwhile before the next client comes at your door?

Don’t deny the health risk

It’s much likely to find more clients if you stay online too much, but you can’t deny the health risk you are developing simultaneously. Best if you get up early in the morning and build a routine to respond to your buyers. This won’t let you drastically reduce your response rate time too.

Set your Gigs properly

Is your gig expressing your service clearly? Have you added the important keywords in the description part? Checked the spelling and the Grammar thoroughly? Is your Gig’s image service related?

Get set up for success

Charge moderately

Think a little more about the Pricing again. Instead of earning a lot in a short period, working at an average price will bring more clients, boost your confidence, lower the risks of getting bad reviews, increase your client-dealing profile, and make you more professional. You can go for the big fishes later; wouldn’t that be a deliberate strategy? What do you think?

Don’t use these words ever

Never use any of these keywords when texting a client: Email, Phone Number, Bank Account Number, Payment, and Review. This can bring an end to your freelancing career even before it properly starts. If it becomes necessary to share any of these information, type them on applications like Google Docs or Quip and send the file link to the client, but it’s always better not to share them before the order gets confirmed.

Send better buyer requests

Try to understand the buyer requests carefully. It’s a good idea not to send any pre-made offer to the Buyers. Instead, emphasize the crucial points of the buyer request, provide your clients a strong brief about why are you a good fit for the job. A great way to write a good offer is to imagining yourself as a buyer. Would you respond to a proposal filled with unnecessary sentences or would you respond to the brief that is to the point?

Gather more information

Get detailed information about the job. If necessary, apologize to the client in advance, but get detailed information as much it’s possible.

Final words

The number of freelance professionals increasing exponentially day by day, the competition is seems to be rising as ever before. To stand out as a successful freelancer on Fiverr , you need to choose your every next step carefully. I hope these mentioned points will make your freelancing journey smoother. Happy days ahead.
